Animal Health and Infectious Diseases

Aims and Scope

The journal of Animal Health and Infectious Diseases (AHID) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal committed to advancing scientific understanding and practical solutions in the field of infectious diseases affecting animals. The journal serves as a multidisciplinary forum for the dissemination of high-quality research that bridges veterinary medicine, microbiology, epidemiology, immunology, pathology, public health, and the One Health paradigm.
AHID specifically addresses critical and emerging challenges at the animal–human–environment interface, including zoonotic diseases, antimicrobial resistance, pathogen evolution, disease surveillance, biosecurity, and outbreak response. The journal welcomes original research articles, comprehensive reviews, short communications, case reports, and policy-oriented analyses that contribute to the prevention, detection, diagnosis, treatment, and control of infectious diseases in livestock, poultry, wildlife, and companion animals.
By integrating perspectives from laboratory science, field diagnostics, clinical practice, and public policy, AHID aims to support the development of resilient, equitable, and sustainable animal health systems. The journal prioritizes work with global relevance, particularly studies from underrepresented regions, and encourages submissions that foster innovation, evidence-based decision-making, and cross-sectoral collaboration.
Ultimately, AHID strives to protect animal welfare, enhance food safety and security, and mitigate infectious disease threats to human populations, aligning its mission with global health priorities and the principles of scientific integrity, inclusivity, and open knowledge exchange.
